A little party magic. A little less planning.
I’m C, the busy parent behind YourSecretPartyPlanner. I love a thoughtful celebration, admire people who can turn ordinary things into something beautiful, and have a complicated relationship with glitter.
I’ve always been in awe of the creativity I see on Instagram and Etsy. Part of me wants to make everything from scratch. The other part immediately starts organizing a shopping list and wondering how long it will take.
I still enjoy making crafts—even when the results are a little wonky. But for years, most of my creative energy went into my career. PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets were my materials of choice, and late nights and work travel left little room for hobbies.
Then I started a family, and stickers, glue, and glitter found their way back into my life.
Birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings became opportunities to create something special: a welcoming table, a playful decoration, a game that brought everyone together. Planning those little details became one of my ways of saying, “I love you.”
But loving the celebration didn’t always mean loving the planning.
I’ve squeezed birthday planning into airport waits, scrolled through endless decorations, and wondered whether the games would be fun or the food would be enough. Sometimes, seeing another picture-perfect party only made my to-do list feel longer.
I wanted something I could realistically pull together: lovely decorations, fun activities, and good food that fit my budget and the time I actually had.
Through trial and error, I learned that a few thoughtful details can create a lot of magic.

My hope is that the time I spend researching saves you time—and a little mental energy. Because when you’re juggling work, family, and everything else, getting an hour back can feel like a gift.
